Tennessee Marriage License Requirements

No Waiting Period! - No Blood Tests!

You must be at least 18 years of age. Both parties must present either a Valid Driver's License or a certified birth certificate. If you smoky mountain wedding chapelare not a US Citizen, you will need to present a valid passport. If your social security number is not shown on your driver's license, you must bring your social security card with you. Once you apply, the application is good for a period of 30 days. If you are not married within the 30-day period, it will be necessary for you to reapply for the marriage license. If you have been divorced and taken back your maiden name and your current driver's license does not reflect your maiden name, it will be necessary for you to bring your divorce decree indicating the name change. You may apply at any courthouse in Tennessee.

* If Tennessee residents complete a 4-hour marital counseling class held by a qualified counselor, cost for the license is reduced to $38.50.  Tennessee residents can check with their local county clerk's office for  information.
